Calming Experiences for the Mind and Senses

Purpose
The Davis & Davis Relaxation Center is designed to provide a calming and enjoyable self-care experience. We believe that most people from time to time experience levels of stress and anxiety that lead to unpleasant and sometimes unhealthy reactions. Often, when these high levels of stress and anxiety are reduced, many other troubling issues become more manageable.

In the past, we have tried sending relaxation tapes home with patients. Our experience has generally been that while people often intend to use these tapes, few are able to do so because there are too many interruptions – the phone rings, the dog needs to go out, a child needs something, the doorbell rings, etc., etc. For many people, trying to find 20-30 minutes of time when they know they won’t be interrupted can be nearly impossible. Thus, we decided to make relaxation services available in our office where the environmental distractions are under a good deal more control.
